Forestry 1 Radio Number - North Carolina Forest Service ( County Ranger, District 2 )
- All Watauga County Fire Departments ( with the exception of Boone FD and Blowing Rock F&R ) are dispatched on the county fire VHF channel, then will switch to a tac/direct channel once on scene designated by the Incident Commander.
- Watauga Medics and Watauga Rescue Squad use VHF for dispatch and main operations.

Radio Frequency Information
- Appalachian State University - Campus Police and Mountaineer Medics uses VIPER for full time dispatch and their daily communications. The on campus communications center uses the callsign "App State" or "ASU". Statewide and Watauga County VIPER talk-groups and used during their special events ( football games, concerts, etc. ) and many outside and surrounding agencies assist them during these type of large events.
- Town of Blowing Rock has their own communications center with the callsign of "Blowing Rock", for police operations only. Blowing Rock Fire & Rescue is dispatched by Watauga County's communications center on their VHF channel.
- Boone Police full time on VIPER, uses VHF as backup and in low VIPER coverage areas.
- Watauga Sheriffs Office full time on VHF, Uses VIPER for spec ops and in low VHF coverage areas.
- Town of Boone Communications center merged with Watauga County in the summer of 2022. Watauga County Emergency Services dispatches all county/city agencies (with the exception of Blowing Rock Police and Appalachian State) with the callsign of "Watauga".
- As of Fall 2023, County Fire VHF and VIPER have been patched, Boone and Blowing Rock FDs VHF and VIPER channels are NOT patched
- As of Fall 2023, Watauga Rescue VHF and VIPER have been patched
